Road map for - 'Patents to Dollars'



The technical specification development work within 3GPP is accomplished by Technical Specification Groups (TSGs) according to the principles and rules contained in the Project reference documentation (Partnership Project Description, Partnership Project Agreement, and Partnership Project Working Procedures). The Working Groups, within the TSGs, meet regularly and come together for their quarterly TSG Plenary meeting, where their work is presented for information, discussion and approval. Four Technical Specification Groups (TSG) in 3GPP are:

  • Radio Access Networks (RAN),
  • Service & Systems Aspects (SA),
  • Core Network & Terminals (CT) and
  • GSM EDGE Radio Access Networks (GERAN).

4.1 Division of TSG groups TSG is further divided into four parts. Each of these sub groups deals with a specific part of wireless communication. LTE Projects The TSG sub groups are further divided into more groups.A breif working about each of these groups is given below;
