How to install SUN Java on Debian Wheezy


[root@damasceno ~]# ./knowledge.sh --help

Add the following repositories:

root@damasceno:/root# echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu trusty main" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list
root@damasceno:/root# echo "deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu trusty main" | tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list

Do not forget to add its key:

root@damasceno:/root# apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys EEA14886

Update the repositories list and install it:

root@damasceno:/root# apt-get update
root@damasceno:/root# apt-get install oracle-java8-installer

Check the version with the following command:

java -version
